To apply for MBBS admission in Russia or Armenia, Indian students need four categories of documents: academic records (mark sheets, NEET scorecard, transfer certificate), identity and travel documents (passport, photographs, medical fitness certificate), visa paperwork (admission letter, visa application, insurance), and — later — post-graduation documents (apostille, NMC eligibility certificate) needed to practice in India. Here is the complete checklist, organised by stage.
1. Academic documents (needed at application stage)
- 10th and 12th mark sheets and passing certificates (originals + photocopies)
- NEET-UG scorecard and admit card
- Transfer certificate (TC) and migration certificate from your school/college
- Birth certificate (as age proof)
2. Identity and travel documents
- Passport with at least 18–24 months validity from the date of travel
- Passport-size photographs (as per embassy specifications)
- Medical fitness certificate, including HIV test report
- Bank statement or income proof for visa financial verification
Passport tip: If you don't already have a passport, apply for it as soon as you decide to pursue MBBS abroad. Passport issuance in India can take several weeks, and universities need your passport details to issue the invitation letter.
3. Visa documents (once provisionally admitted)
After your university issues a provisional admission/invitation letter, you'll need the following for your student visa:
- University admission/invitation letter (issued after provisional admission)
- Completed visa application form for Russia or Armenia
- Visa fee payment receipt
- Health/travel insurance covering the study period
Armenia-bound students typically apply for their visa through the Embassy of Armenia in New Delhi, while Russia-bound students apply via the Russian Consulate or an authorised visa centre — your admission letter and passport are required in both cases.
4. Post-graduation documents (for practicing in India)
These aren't needed to travel, but you should know about them early since some — like the NMC eligibility certificate — must be obtained before you leave India:
- Apostille attestation of your MBBS degree and academic transcripts
- Internship completion certificate from the university
- Eligibility certificate from the National Medical Commission (NMC), obtained before departure
- FMGE/NEXT registration documents once you return to India
